Florianópolis

Hoplon couldn’t have chosen a better place. For decades known as a tourist destination, with dozens of beaches either for partying or relaxing, and a sort of countryside atmosphere mixed with a recent cosmopolitan feeling, Florianopolis has received several and progressive investments on technology.

The city hall’s statistics show that information technology (IT) nowadays raises greater amounts of money than tourism.

Several local colleges – including one federal and one state university – produce skilled professionals. But with the IT booming in Florianópolis, companies are recruiting people from other places too. These new citizens pump the city’s economy growth, leveling up with sophistication service sales, which counts already with four shopping malls, twenty cinemas (from which 3 are arthouse cinemas) and international class restaurants.

Florianopolis metropolitan area, which covers Sao Jose, Palhoça and Biguaçu singles itself out with the highest Human Development Index among the country regions; which means the best life quality (life expectancy, income and education). The percentage of ongoing undergrad citizens from 18 to 24 years old surpasses 25%.   

Around 400 thousand people live in the city, 80 of them Hoplon Infotainment proudly recruited to work at their head office, 7 km far from downtown and 20 km from the nearest beach.
